Recovery Corps issues second Request for Qualifications on new case management program, announces revised timeline and estimated funding
BATON ROUGE, La. (June 17, 2008) – Due to the low response rate from three critical geographic areas in Louisiana, the Louisiana Family Recovery Corps has released a second Request for Qualifications on FEMA’s Disaster Case Management Pilot program, formerly known as Phase II Case Management, and announced a new timeline for RFQ response. All service providers interested in providing case management services to individuals still recovering from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita are encouraged to download the RFQ (click here).
The Recovery Corps initially issued the RFQ on June 6, 2008, but received light response from Central, North and Southwest Louisiana and heavy response from the Greater Baton Rouge and Greater New Orleans areas. The Recovery Corps originally planned to announce selected providers today, but instead issued another RFQ and will announce selected providers on July 7, 2008. For a complete revised timeline, please download the RFQ.
Based on available information from FEMA and number of households to be served, the Recovery Corps estimates that service providers can receive up to $5 million in total award funds. Currently, the Recovery Corps estimates 29,000 households to be served by this program.
IMPORTANT: All providers that previously submitted responses to the first RFQ on June 11, 2008, will be allowed to submit modifications, amendments or entirely new proposals if they wish by June 27, 2008.
Designated by the State of Louisiana as the lead agency on human recovery, the Recovery Corps is requesting information from qualified organizations to provide disaster case management services to individuals and families. Qualifications will be considered from entities with a demonstrated history of providing quality, outcome-driven programming and fiscal accountability. The Recovery Corps is currently working with the State of Louisiana on an application to FEMA for case management services for Louisiana citizens still recovering from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The RFQ does not reflect the design or implementation of the final program, populations served, how populations will be served or funding available. The RFQ is a starting point from the Recovery Corps for FEMA’s creation of a new case management pilot program, which will be launched sometime in the near future. A Frequently Asked Questions document has been posted with the RFQ. If service providers have any additional questions, please direct inquiries to phase2@recoverycorps.org.
As new information comes available, it will be posted at www.recoverycorps.org. Check the Web site regularly for updates.
