RECOVERY CORPS CEO RAYMOND JETSON AVAILABLE FOR COMMENT ON HUMAN RECOVERY OF MIDWEST
BATON ROUGE, La.-Many residents of the Midwest U.S. have either lost or were evacuated from their homes as a result of the storm system that produced the large tornado that leveled Greensburg, Kan., and caused extensive flooding in Missouri and Oklahoma. Louisiana Family Recovery Corps CEO Raymond Jetson is available for immediate comment on issues concerning the intermediate and long-term recovery of storm-affected areas in the Midwest.
Jetson can discuss:
- Issues affecting household re-establishment,
- Emotional well-being of disaster-affected residents who experience trauma caused by the tornado, flooding and severe weather,
- Transitional and long-term housing solutions,
- Coordination of human relief and recovery efforts, and
- Critical supports provided by nonprofits and faith-based organizations.
"It is important that we fully understand the personal loss and loss of community many in the Midwest feel and will feel," said Jetson. "Many residents witnessed the destruction or damage of their communities and they will have needs similar to those experienced by Louisiana residents during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita."
Jetson has served as Recovery Corps CEO since April 2006. As CEO, he leads the coordination of local, state and national efforts to connect disaster-impacted individuals and families in Louisiana with the resources they need to recover and resume their lives. Jetson is a former deputy secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
